Frequently asked questions:
What do I bring to the lesson?
Swimwear to wear under your wetsuit (wetsuit provided by us) Drinking water, sunscreen and a towel.
Can I used my own board and wetsuit?
Yes. If your wetsuit is warm and comfortable, go for it. And if your board is a “foamy” (softboard) with soft plastic fins you are welcome to use it in our group lessons. If you would like to have a surf lesson on your hard board, you can book a private surf lesson
Is there a toilet or change room at the beach?
No, however there is a public toilet a few minutes down the road at Sceale Bay. It can be good to rock up to the lesson already wearing your swimwear, so you can just slip straight in to your wetsuit.
Alright...sharks?
We are very lucky to have the beach we surf at- shallow water (most of the time we surf in waist deep or less) good visibility with clear blue water on a white sand bottom for miles. And in all our years of water time, we have not seen a shark at this beach. It is the ocean, so they are certainly out in the deeper water, but we have always felt safe at Surfers Beach.
Rain?
We love surfing in the rain! A nice thing to do, as you're already wet. However, if there's a bit of lightning in the mix, we may cancel a lesson.
Do you operate year round?
No, we close for the cooler, more quite months.
Where can I leave a review or lodge a complaint?
Google reviews are our most used platform. We always appreciate feedback, so if there is something you are/weren't happy about, please bring it up with us and we will strive to resolve it.
